Schwarzblau Exklusive Edition 5I (Allgemein)

Greeting from Canada.
My name is Kevin Bundschuh and live in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. Let me appologize for my lack of fundamental German language skills.
I recently purchased a 1987 535i Exclusive Edition 5I that was imported from Japan. It has been very difficult to get any answers about build details from Munich. I have attached the contents of the build sheet for comment from any one. If you know about this model, please contact me.

The build sheet reads as follows:

Hi Kevin,

I´m afraid that I cannot help you much. There have been certain special edition models such as the "Executive" in Germany, which were upgraded versions, being released shortly before the production of the E28 range ended.
Nevertheless I never have heard of such a model as you have.
By the way, I like your car. It´s a very neat and clean sleeper- make sure to take good care of it. <img src=http://bilder.parsimony.net/smilies/smile.gif alt=smile> Maybe you could be able to lose the skirts once in a while... <img src=http://bilder.parsimony.net/smilies/zwinker.gif alt=zwinker>

What I find interesting about the car is the serial number. The 10th didgit should be a letter.."J" but has a "0" zero instead. Do you know why?

So will I. Mine is a 1987 eta model, painted in alpine white, furthermore does it have black "M5" leather interior and 17 inch "Alpina" spoke wheels, by the way. I´m looking forward to the future moments that I will be able to spend with this wonderful car. <img src=http://bilder.parsimony.net/smilies/smile.gif alt=smile>

Unfortunately, I don´t. I´m not too familiar to this stuff, it´s more like that I like this particular car because my daddy used to own one back in the days when I was a little boy. Old story, but true. I love the e28, got one, but I suppose that there is a lot of people who have got better knowledge concerning statistics, registries and so on.
My advice would be that you sent your data sheet and all the information to BMW themselves. AFAIK BMW does hand out certificates for BMW cars to their respective owners, however, they do charge money for that service. There also exists a part of the company - called the "Mobile Tradition" - who are dealing with older and rare BMW models.
Quite probably, BMW should be able to provide you with the information you need- I´m sorry that I can´t. If you ever should have any further questions or anything, feel free to mail to: MrMiata31@hotmail.com.

I think the Executive and the Exclusive would be very similar.
