looking for parts in Germany (Allgemein)

Danial, Thursday, 23.08.2001, 22:05 (vor 8986 Tagen)

Guten Tag,

I will be traveling to Frankfurt and Munich and was hoping that some of you folks in Germany could give me some advice on getting used parts. I was hoping to look through some recycling centers for european parts for my E28 M5. I have the following questions:

1. Do the recycling centers (salvage yard) have M5 parts and are they reasonably priced? I'm looking for 7" lights with wipers, rear sunshade, brake calipers & rotors from an E34 M5, euro exhaust, etc.
2. Is it very difficult and/or costly (taxes) to send parts back to the USA?
3. Do you know of any good recylcing centers in Frankfurt and Munich or in between them? I will be driving from Frankfurt to Munich and could make some stops.
4. Any recommendations for "got to see" sights? I will be going to the Nurburgring, Rhine, MB museum, BMW museum, Dachau & castles.

Thanks in advance,

Danial

Let me know, what you need for parts of your car with numbers or discription.
May be, I can order some for a very low price. Taxes are not a problem, I can calculate them for shipping.

Hi,

Thank you for your posting. I'll email you directly with more details but I'm interested in used E34 M5 front & rear brakes, euro headers for E28 M5, 7" headlights w/ washers, sideskirts, rear view mirror w/ map light, and rear retractable sunshade.

Thanks,

Danial
