Hallo,
Here's Rich's '83 533i that he got from the second owner in 1994 with 97k miles. At 150k miles, the head was blueprinted. Currently, at 185k, he's got no rust or damage, and a complete service history down to the original BMW stamps in the service booklet (I still have that thing in my glovebox, too!). So far, he's got Euro bumpers, Euro headlights wired the "Euro way," Alpina "open lug" wheels with a staggered setup (16x7.5 et11 and 16x8 et24) with 205/55/16 (F) and 225/50/16 (R) Bridgestone RE730 tires. That includes the Alpina rim with 205/55/16 RE730 as a spare. He has ST adjustable sway bars (25/19), Getrag 265 transmission with AutoSolutions short shifter, M5 clutch and pressure plate with M5 flywheel, 3.73 LS diff, TDH cold air induction system with cold air box, custom Euro exhaust that consists of Euro downpipes, H-pipe, dual cats, no resonators and Euro M5 rear muffler, 3.0 Bar fuel pressure regulator, soon to be replaced with Cartech RRFPR, and Momo Ghibli-4 Leather Steering Wheel that was only available in Japan. Coming soon: big brake upgrade with pre-1983 E31 fronts and E32 750i rears with 540i rotors, Earl's SS brake lines, new Interior (switching from Mocha to tan from an '87 535is, with manual Recaros from E21 320is), Blaupunkt Toronto head unit, Alpina instrument cluster (in transit from Germany), German OBC and check module, Euro front airdam with functional brake cooling ducts "not just openings like the 'is spoiler'", all-rubber early Euro-type rear deck spoiler, oil filter assembly from Euro 635i to support oil cooler, Schroth Rallye 3-point harness, oil cooler, Alpina suspension, Alpina sport steering wheel, Post-1983 E31 multi-piston front brakes, and, further down the road, an Alpina B9 engine with brain and headers. He says. . .
"My goal is to convert my US 533i over to the Euro configuration using as many Alpina parts as possible."
